HYC Foundation Scholarship

The HYC Foundation Scholarship was created in 2024 to offer opportunities to introduce youth to sailing who might not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy the sport. Although limited in 2024 to supporting participants in the HYC Junior Sailing Summer Program, it is envisioned that this Scholarship could eventually support a wider array of sailing programs.

The Foundation Scholarship is a need-based Scholarship and, for 2024, is available to support participation in an HYC Summer Program program, including Opti and c420 Programs.

Interested?  Apply for a Foundation Scholarship.

Applicants

Applicants for the Foundation Scholarship must be ages 5 to 18 years of age, live in Hampton Roads, have a passion for life on or around the water and must be able to pass the HYC Junior Sailing swim test. If your child – or a child you know – is interested in participating in a Junior Sailing program at Hampton Yacht Club, but may not be able to afford full tuition, you may apply for a scholarship by filling out the Application. Depending upon which Program you are interested in, additional requirements can be found on our Opti Summer Program page or on our High School c420 page.

Please verify that you meet all requirements for your desired Program before you apply.

The HYC Foundation Scholarship Committee will review Applications on a case-by-case basis and reserve the right to award this Scholarship in its sole discretion.
